2010 Campbell Outdoor Challenge - Bowfishing

The heat of the day was broken as the sun set and the cool air of the night revived us as we finished packing the truck. With a late start we headed down to Western KY for our 3rd Campbell Outdoor Challenge 18 hours away.  We were still riding high from the previous year where we came in 3rd!! A big upset to the top contenders. 2009 was a great year big fish and good footage, we were hoping for the same.
On the first night of the challenge the sky darkened with clouds and the sounds of thunder threatened us with a nearby storm.  We laid low until it passed and them began our night bow fishing on Lake Barkley.

We were not having much luck because of the earlier floods and recent storms made the water murky and the fish could hardly be seen.  We were luckily trying out a new product, The Bow Lite that Kurt had found at the ATA show. Steve provided us with some to use and it helped us tremendously to spot the fish and once the arrow was fired the lightened lumenok helped us follow the fish.  On the first night we were able to turn in our three fish and footage. They weren’t the biggest but the other teams didn’t have the best luck either.

The second and third nights were the same; we got our fish but they weren’t as big as we needed and the poor visibility of the water made us lose some points on video clarity.  Teams struggled to find the big fish and good footage. It was a race till the end.  All and All it was a good time and we placed 4th.
